Robert Leo (Rocky) Bratton

Funeral services for Robert Leo “Rocky” Bratton, 60, of Monroe, will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Rev. David Richter officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mr. Bratton passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013. Rocky was a loving husband, devoted father, and great friend to all who knew him. He was a true lover of the outdoors and a jack-of-all-trades. But his greatest legacy was his children, whom he loved with all his heart. Whether it was softball, Cub Scouts, or prom decorating committee, Rocky never turned down an opportunity to be involved.

Rocky always led by example with his faith, which he shared with his wife Martha by participating in several church ministries. He was led through his battle with cancer by both his faith and the tireless care of Martha, who never left his side.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Coker Bratton; children, Sara Bratton Jones and husband Benjamin, Daniel Bratton, and Mary Frances Bratton; brothers, Dennis Bratton, Larry Bratton, and Benjamin Bratton; and several beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

I knew Rocky back in the early 90's when we both worked for LCR. I ran into him again by chance at a seminar in Baton Rouge, and fell into conversation although neither of us recognized each other initially. Great guy, big heart... He made an impact on everyone he came in contact with. God, we ask for the peace of your presence to be with his family. Touch their lives with your mercy in unexpected ways. Thank you, God, for your love.

I was very saddened to find out about the passing of Rocky today. I first met my cousin Rocky when we worked together at LCR corporation in the 90's. The thing I remember most about Rocky is his perpetual joy and happiness; no matter how much negative was thrown his way by Staff, Managers and plumbers we dealt with Rocky maintained a pleasant and joyful disposition as if he had figured out the secret to happiness was to always rise above the petty. What a wonderful place the world would be if everyone had Rocky's awesome outlook. Rocky and all of his family will remain in our thoughts and prayers.
