Dear bill,
In the time that ive known you, you have truely changed my life. Although you never accepted a thank you, theres no one else in this world that deserves one as much as you . I was your cna, and i truely feel honored that i was the person you, tracy, and mark trusted the most (cna wise) . You have taught me even though you might be scared, you still have to do whats right. (Kerri you know why cops pants were baggy? So you cant see their knees shaking) . You taught me you can never show your family you love them enough. You taught me to live the life you love and love the life you live. (Kerri, i have lived the life i wanted to, and im just waiting for my time) and i would always tell you not to say that. But your right, your proud of the life you lived and proud of the family you have. Bill you are one of a kind, and you will be missed. May you rest in paradise and reunite with your wife. And tracy, may you find the strength to move on and recover from such a loss:( i love you guys. Bill, i love you. <3

Grady (as I Knew him) was an exceptional man. He had a quiet grace about his everyday deportment and to be in his company was to be in the company of true integrity. It didn't take long before you greatly admired him. I will miss his friendship and will always consider Grady a really special person and that I was so fortunate to have had him as a friend.

Bill was an outstanding uniform officer and an even better detective. He had a knack for developing informants and cleared many high profile crimes. He was highly respected by his fellow police detectives throughout the state. He also played on many of the CPD sports teams, basketball, softball, etc. and excelled as usual. He will be missed by his brother and sister police officers. May you rest in peace Bill. Sincerely,
Det. Capt. John F. Smith

I wish I could pay my respects in person to such a good man. These are times that make living far from home hard. I have so many memories of being with the Gradys growing up in RI and that trip we took to FL when they lived there. He was a great softball coach and a wonderful father and husband. I send all my thoughts out to the whole family and my love to Tracy who I spent a lot of years calling my best friend.

May the God of all comfort be with you during this time of sorrow, while you await the fulfillment of the promises found at John 5:28,29 and at Revelation 21:3-5 which reads "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” 5 And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also, he says: “Write, because these words are faithful and true.”
Sincere condolences for your loss.
