To the Reposa family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I not had lost a friend, but brother. I must write this to John: John I still can't believe it. I am overcome with grief and heartache. It seems like yesterday we were two young pups in the 54th Academy. Throughout the years we grew into fine officers, working in the different divisions, we always managed to find time to connect. You would always light up a room with your presence. I will miss you, my friend, my classmate, my brother. RIP. Bob "The Rock" DeCarlo

I will tell you there are a whole lotta people out here, including me, who are thinking about nothing but you guys this week and the pain you are going through. We are all hoping that you are finding the strength somehow to get through this. I know Johnny wouldn't want to see you suffering like this and he is going to find a way to ease your pain I know it. Good little things will start to happen in your life that will make you say, hmmm. Deepest sympathy to the Reposa family. John was an extraordinary police officer. He was every supervisor's dream. Whenever he was called upon by any member of the department YOU could rest assured that you were in safe hands and the City of Providence was safe that day or night. He was that good. John brought a contagious sense of energy to work DAILY. He navigated his interactions with the community with compassion and fairness. John was a tremendous HUMAN BEING and we as a department were FORTUNATE to have him for twenty (20) years. Again, there are just not enough of words to describe how much HE WILL BE MISSED.

Dear Reposa family, my heart breaks for you. I was shocked to hear of Johnny's passing and I have been so heavily burdened that God called him home so early. I have been praying for you all daily. I will miss Johnny's huge smile and huge personality at our family gatherings. I am Amy and Tim Pickering's cousin, and Johnny was always a presence at our extended family gatherings: Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving...he was part of our family. God has taken home such a wonderful man; and while we may not understand why now, I hope you will take comfort in the man that he was, all that he accomplished and how many lives he touched while he was with us. He was certainly well loved and respected. Love and Blessings to your family.
