Philip Edward Mullins

Mr. Philip E. Mullins, age 73 of Pembroke, passed away Saturday evening February 15th at 11:40 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville following a long illness.

Mr. Mullins was born November 17, 1940 in Birmingham, Alabama the son of the late Austin and Phyllis Randolph Mullins.  He grew up in East Tennessee before moving to Pembroke.  He graduated from Pembroke School and the Georgia Institute of Technology.  He was an officer in the United States Navy. He was the owner of Mullins Logistics and Mullins Farms.  He was the former owner of Mullins Tobacco Warehouse and Mullins Harton Tobacco Warehouse.  He was a Special Deputy Sheriff for Christian County.  He was a past chairman of the Christian County Airport Board, founding member of the Committee of 100, member of the Christian County Jaycees, and Christian County Democratic Party.  He was a member of the Kentucky Commission on Education, Kentucky Board of Corrections, Kentucky Parole Board, Kentucky Council on Child Abuse, and Inaugural Kentucky Lottery Board.  He was a member of Pembroke Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife Peggy Hadden Mullins of Pembroke; one daughter Paige Mullins-Couch of Hopkinsville and one grandson Matthew Couch of Hopkinsville. 

Visitation with the Mullins family will be on Saturday, February 22nd from 12:00 until memorial service time at 2:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home in Elkton, KY.  Memorial Service is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday at 2:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with J. Earl Coker officiating. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Memory of Philip Mullins to University Heights Academy at 1300 Academy Drive, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
