A Time to be Born

Curtis Timothy Johnson was born to the late Julius and Lois McMillan Johnson on December 24, 1949 in DeLand, Florida.

A Time to Love

Curtis was joined in holy matrimony with Starnette Curry on June 23, 1972. He was a loving husband and a devoted father.

A Time to Live

Curtis accepted and dedicated his life to Christ as a child at Saint Paul Primitive Baptist Church in DeLand(Red City) and moved his membership to Royal Temple Independent Free Methodist Church where he served faithfully on the Trustee Board (Chairman). He attended Euclid Elementary and graduated from Southwestern Jr.-Sr. High School in June 1968.

Curtis joined the U.S. Army in July 1968. He owned and operated Kings Services until his passing, but his legacy will still live on through his sons Darryl and Devin. He enjoyed many things. He was a member of the Black Hawks Men's softball league, coached the Women League "Curt Stars", and Pop Warner "Bucs" football. He was an Esteem Knight of the Senator Coleman Elks Lodge #1175, and loved to fish, grill and be among family.

A Time to Die

On January 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., sweet spirit of Brother Johnson heard the voice of God whisper; “Son be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole”, go in peace.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife Starnette; two sons; Darryl Curry (Lori), DeLand, FL, Devin Johnson (Victoria) DeLand, FL; three Grandchildren: Maggie Powell, Arelia Powell, Quron Curry; Two Great-Grandchildren; One Aunt: Cornelius Taylor, Lakeland, FL, Four Brothers: Ramon Howell  (Kay), Jacksonville, FL, Ronnie Jenkins (Cynthia), Atlanta, GA; Carl Johnson, Columbus, GA, Kenneth Johnson, DeLand, FL, Two Sisters: Barbara Patrick, DeLand, FL, and Sandra Haywood (Dallas), DeLand, FL, one sister preceeded him in death (Sarah Williams); Mother-in-law; Lorene Seymore. Two sister-in-laws; Debra Brown, DeLand,FL, and Diane Harris (Richard), Sanford, FL, Four brother-in-laws: Dennis Curry (Mary) , Enterprise, FL, James Curry, GA, Clinton Curry, Apoka, FL, William Ford, DeLand, FL, Special Brother: Isaac White (Cecelia); Special Friends: Eilene O’Brien, Larry Conners, and Scott Woulard; and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends.
