Funeral service for Gloria Jett Wilson be 2:00 p.m. Friday 13, 2012 at Jerusalem Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Darlington Memory Gardens directed by Young & Young Funeral Home of Hartsville.
Wake service will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Harold L. & Dorothy J. Young Memorial Chapel.
Gloria Yvonne Jett Wilson was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 7, 1959 to the late Nathaniel Jett Jr. and Lillie Esther Bell Jett.After the passing of Gloria's parents, she was raised by her aunt, thelate Ruby Jett McCoy and her grandparents, the late Nathaniel Jett Sr.and Luvenia Jett. In September 1990 she married, her love, Bernice Wilson. She is the loving motherof three daughters, Niquelle Jett, (30) Courtney Wilson (19) and Octavia Wilson (13).
In her early years she was relocated to Darlington County SC. She attended Mayo and Butler High School. She graduated from Mayo High School and Columbia Junior College. As a child she was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church.
Some of her employments were Hanes Hosiery, Department of Juvenile Justice (SC) and after relocating to Marland, she worked for Hearts and Homes for Youth as a Residential Counselor. Gloria was presently employed at the Maryland Neighborly Network Inc. She opened her home to many and was best known for her southern cuisine.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Bernice Wilson, three daughters, Niquelle Jett, Courtney Wilson and Octavia Wilson; eight sisters Linda Jett- Cruz, Gwendolyn Jett Johnson (William) of NC, Terry Jett, Dana Jett, Tanje Jett, Rosalyn Jackson and Yvette McCoy, (NY) Natalie Jett, (SC); one brother Anthony Jett (NY) father-in-law, Bernice Wilson Sr. and mother-in-law, Mary Wilson, and a host of brother and sister-in-law, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends and her special Yorkie "Chloe"
